What does a place setting include?
A place setting is the group of pieces for one guest. The everyday examples here contain a dinner plate and a salad or dessert plate. The layered examples add a bread plate and a charger, service plate or underplate. Each featured plate is sold individually; the planner does not create a boxed set.
How many pieces do I need for six or twelve guests?
For six guests, start with six dinner plates and six smaller plates: 12 individual pieces. For twelve guests, start with twelve of each: 24 pieces. A four-piece layered setting requires 24 pieces for six guests or 48 pieces for twelve. Add soup bowls, tea cups and spare plates according to your menu and routine.
Can I mix dinnerware collections?
Yes. Repeat a color or metallic detail to create a connection. Compare the actual plate diameters and rim shapes before layering: similar sizes alone do not guarantee that two plates will nest neatly.
Is porcelain with gold or platinum decoration dishwasher-safe?
Care varies by collection and finish. Follow the instructions for the exact product; do not assume every decorated porcelain piece has the same dishwasher or microwave guidance. Ask our team if the product instructions are unclear.
