The arms are stretched by hand by two glassmakers, who imprint a twist into a cylinder that has been previously shaped into a flower by two other glassmakers, all while blowing in air so that the interiors are hollow. Once twisted, the arm that is being worked on is positioned while still hot onto a steel template which master glassmakers shape into U-shapes or loops.
